Project Management
Project Management forms a major part of our work. We specialise in managing health-related projects and the development of school consortia on behalf of local authorities. Many of our projects are long term, three years or more, for example the Essex and Southend Healthy Schools Partnership and the Colchester Primary Schools Consortium.
Members of our staff have extensive experience of working at a senior level in these areas as well as highly developed project management skills. We have particular expertise in negotiating and working collaboratively with diverse groups and organisations.
Current or recent projects include:
* Managing the Essex and Southend Healthy Schools Partnership. This programme has been running since 1999 and involves more than 450 schools working towards and gaining National Healthy Schools Status.
* Supporting the professional development of staff in the Braintree Schools Federation - a network of 25 primary, secondary and special schools and the local further education college
* Co-ordinating and supporting the development of the Colchester Consortium, a collaboration of 15 primary schools. It involves identifying and facilitating work on agreed priorities, supporting professional development, preparing funding bids and managing projects, including ArC, a three year Arts Council funded project to develop citizenship through the arts.
* Managing a three year project for Essex Children's Fund entitled ' Building Relationships to Minimise Bullying' for more than 120 primary schools in Essex with particular emphasis on those not directly involved in the bullying itself - the bystanders.
* CSN is working with the PSHE Association on a three year project comprising four strands.
- To confirm the principles of effective practice in PSHE education and establish a theoretical framework.
- To identify possible models of PSHE delivery through case studies in a number of schools.
- To develop a raft of materials designed to support schools in planning, implementing, assessing and evaluating their PSHE programmes.
- To disseminate the learning materials via a series of regional conferences and the PSHE Association web site.
